(Cello and Piano)

Rebecca was born in 1983 and has played the cello from the age of eight. She attended Chetham's School of Music where she developed into a vibrant young performer, and went on to perform as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, working under the direction of some of the world's leading conductors.

Rebecca continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Music and has worked with Hannah Roberts, David Smith, and Philip Sheppard. She also studied baroque cello with Jennifer Ward-Clarke. Rebecca's first concerto appearance was at the age of 17, when she performed the Elgar concerto. Her performance was noted with enthusiasm, and led to engagements throughout England, as well as in Ireland and France.

Rebecca regularly gives solo recitals in London and she is a featured artist of the Concordia Foundation's distinguished concert series. She was a finalist on the Delius Prize and was highly commended for her performance of the Schumann Cello Concerto in the May Murkle Cello Competition.

Rebecca has a personal connection to Lincoln - her younger brother is currently a chorister in the cathedral choir and her mother is a teacher at Lincoln Minster School.

We are delighted that she has offered to give this concert in the Chapter House at Lincoln Cathedral, and all proceeds will go towards the next Cathedral Choir tour to Europe.
